The season is over and some players poured their heart into every game for their clubs, but some players simply did not. Who were those players? Well, let’s break down the Most Valuable Player and Least Valuable Player of each Premier League club:

1. Manchester City

MVP: Erling Haaland - 36 goals in 38 games, a new Premier League record! There was only one choice here.

LVP: Kalvin Phillips - It’s hard to pick a bad player for a title-winning team. Phillips is my choice only because he was injured for most of the season meaning he didn’t get to play a lot of football. Next season, if he can sort out his injury problems, he will be a great option for City.

2. Arsenal

MVP: Gabriel Martinelli - Yes, players like Odegaard, Ramsdale, and Saka are the star players, but Martinelli had a season to remember: 15 goals and 5 assists as a winger? Those are very impressive numbers!

LVP: Gabriel Jesus - He is a very good number nine, but his injury record hurt Arsenal this season. Similar to Phillips, if he can sort out his injury woes, Jesus is a top player. For long-term success, Arsenal need a striker who can score goals for nine months straight without any injuries.

3. Manchester United

MVP: Marcus Rashford - 30 goals this season, compared to the five goals he scored last season, it is safe to say Rashford is back!

LVP: Harry Maguire - 80 million pounds, England starter, you would think he is good! Well, the fourth-choice center back for United says otherwise. It’s time for Maguire to leave United in order to save his career. The pay at United is good, but rotting on the bench isn’t doing him any favors, time to move on, Harry.

4. Newcastle

MVP: Nick Pope - What a keeper! Pope has undoubtedly saved Newcastle on multiple occasions this season. To go from relegation last year with Burnley, to fourth place with Newcastle is a great achievement.

LVP: Anthony Gordon - He didn’t live up to his potential. Gordon was Everton’s star boy and after a big fallout with the club, he is now wasting away on the Newcastle Bench.

5. Liverpool

MVP: Cody Gakpo - After joining the club in January, Gakpo had a slow start to his career at Liverpool but now he is a starter and scores regularly.

LVP: Virgil Van Dijk - This one goes without saying. Liverpool were terrible defensively this season and as the leader of the defense, he has to take most of the blame.

6. Brighton

MVP: Alexis Mac Allister - What a year! Mac Allister achieved European football for Brighton, won a World Cup with Argentina, and is soon to become a Liverpool player if the rumors are true.

LVP: Deniz Undav - Undav got better towards the end of the season, but he struggled to score goals throughout this season. If he can start more games next season, he is a solid option for Brighton

7. Aston Villa

MVP: Ollie Watkins - 15 goals this season, Watkins has been the driving force for Villa this season!

LVP: Philippe Coutinho - I didn’t even know he plays for Aston Villa! Injuries ruined his season but he still played 20 games and scored only one goal, not a good year for Coutinho.

8. Tottenham

MVP: Harry Kane - 30 goals scored playing in one of the worst Tottenham teams I’ve seen in a while. Spurs will be desperate to keep Kane at the club for next season.

LVP: Richarlison - He only scored one goal. He signed for all that money and played a few games but he struggled. Richarlison has to do better next season

9. Brentford

MVP: Ivan Toney - Unfortunately for him, his season ended on a sour note with his suspension, but Toney was the main man for Brentford this season scoring 20 goals.

LVP: Mikkel Damsgaard - He had an amazing campaign in the Euros a few summers ago, now he is a ghost on the Brenford bench. Damsgaard should consider leaving Brentford to go play for a team where he starts so he can gain some confidence back.

10. Fulham

MVP: Joao Palhinha - he ran the Fulham midfield this season! Palhinha deserves a lot of credit for Fulham’s tenth place finish this season.

LVP: Daniel James - he didn’t do much, James played 24 games: scored two goals and got one assist. James struggled at Manchester United which was understandable, but if he can’t play well with a team like Fulham, maybe the Premier League is too challenging for him right now.

11. Crystal Palace

LVP: Odsonne Edouard - He didn’t score enough goals this year as a starting forward in the Premier League (five goals in 35 games).

12. Chelsea

MVP: None.

LVP: Everyone.

13. Wolves

MVP: Ruben Neves - Neves is a great player who deserves to play for a big club that challenges for major trophies.

LVP: Diego Costa - he is older, but Costa just couldn’t compete in the Premier League this season. Maybe it’s time for him to consider retirement.

14. West Ham

MVP: Declan Rice - In what felt like a final season with the Hammers for Rice, the midfielder definitely made the most of it! Without him, West Ham might not be playing in the Premier League next season…

LVP: Danny Ings and Michael Antonio - they didn’t score enough goals this season. Ings and Antonio are meant to be the two main scorers for the club, but they weren’t prolific enough in front of goal.

15. Bournemouth

MVP: Philip Billing - A true leader for the club, the top scorer for Bournemouth as a midfielder. Billing definitely played a major part in the Cherries’ survival this season.

LVP: Jaidon Anthony - He played a big part in Bournemouth’s promotion to the Premier League back in the 2021/22 season, butt wasn’t good enough this year. He is young (22 years old), and it was his first year in the Premier League

16. Nottingham Forest

MVP: Taiwo Awoniyi - scored important goals for Forest this season. If they can keep him this summer, Awoniyi will play a big role next year for Forest.

LVP: Jesse Lingard - Didn’t show up this season. As a former Manchester United player, Lingard should be the leader of a team like Forest. He has to do better next year or at least score a goal!

17. Everton

LVP: James Garner - Garner is a really good player, but he didn’t get enough game time to show his class. If he can solidify himself as a permanent starter, he will be the main man in Everton’s midfield.

18. Leicester

MVP: James Maddison - Leicester were woeful this season, Maddison was the least woeful of all of them.

LVP: Patson Daka - With Jamie Vardy getting older, this season was Daka’s moment to be the new hero for Leicester. Unfortunately he only scored four goals and with Leicester going down, he needs to take some responsibility as their main forward.

19. Leeds

MVP: Wilfried Gnoto - He scored some big goals for Leeds. Most importantly though he fought for the badge, something most of the Leeds players did not do.

LVP: Patrick Bamford - It was a bad season, actually a second bad season in a row. Time to move on, Patrick.

20. Southampton

MVP: Romeo Lavia - At just 19 years of age, Lavia became Southampton’s star midfielder. He will definitely look to move back to a Premier League club for next season.

LVP: Duje Caleta-Car - Saints fans had high expectations for their new star defender, but Southampton was terrible defensively throughout the season and Caleta-Car barely played with just 13 appearances.
