AT LAST! I present my final table prediction for the Premier League 2023/24 season. After writing two articles during the summer outlining my early predictions, I have now worked out my set-in-stone ranking:
1. Manchester City
2. Liverpool
3. Arsenal
4. Manchester United
5. Aston Villa
6. Newcastle
7. Chelsea
8. Brighton
9. Tottenham
10. Brentford
11. Fulham
12. West Ham
13. Burnley
14. Bournemouth
15. Nottingham Forest
16. Crystal Palace
17. Luton Town
18. Everton
19. Sheffield United
20. Wolves
While there have been some shifts, the overall structure of the table remains fairly consistent. One notable change is the swap between Newcastle and Aston Villa. I believe Villa has made more progress this summer through strategic signings, while Eddie Howe appears to be banking on the potential of last year's squad. While the additions of Livramento and Barnes improve the team, I don’t see them starting every game. Additionally, their recent relegation casts doubt on their ability to compete with top-tier clubs.
Another adjustment involves Everton and West Ham. In my July article, I held out hope for Everton’s survival, I’ve changed my mind. The team’s lack of substantial new signings raises concerns about their ability to remain in the league. On the other hand, West Ham’s pursuit of Manchester United duo Harry Maguire and Scott Mctominay, and Edson Alvarez from Ajax emphasizes their proactive approach. David Moyes seemingly has more ambition than Sean Dyche.
In conclusion, my final Premier League table encapsulates a blend of tactical acquisitions and club aspirations, effectively capturing the potential intricacies of the 2023/24 season.
