Manchester United’s first season under Erik Ten Hag ended with the Red Devils returning to the Champions League along with a trophy for the first time in six years. Although the season was a success, Ten Hag had to use the same mediocre players from two seasons back. With the transfer window now open, United have to remove all their dead wood:

Harry Maguire

It’s time for him to leave. Last season he was the fourth choice behind Varane, Martinez, and Lindelof. Manchester United bought Maguire for 80 million pounds from Leicester City back in 2018, the worst piece of business I have ever seen. Safe to say Maguire has become a meme across the football world and it gets worse after every game. For his sake, it’s time to move on.

Eric Bailly

Bailly is a solid defender, but his injury record has ruined his career in England. As he gets older, he’ll want to play on a team where he will start every game.

Anthony Martial

“Martial will be the best in the world,” a quote from a fan back in 2015 after Martials stunning debut against Liverpool, unfortunately, it only went downhill from there. From injuries to poor runs of form, Martial’s time in England has been a bit of a nightmare. Martial is getting older and he’s taking up space.

Dean Henderson

He’s too good to sit on the bench. Also, clubs will pay good money to sign him and if reports are true that United only have a 120 million pound budget, 30 million for Henderson is good.

Alex Telles

He’s never been a starter and now United have Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia. Telles is getting older and should sign for a team like West Ham or Fulham.

Brandon Williams

Same as Telles, he is probably fifth choice left-back but is also valued at 10 million. Cash in on Williams.

Scott McTominay

He is a mediocre player at best. McTominay isn’t good enough to start for any team in the top six. His best chance is to sign for a club like West Ham or Brighton who are about to lose they’re star defensive midfielders because he’ll instantly become a starter.

Donny Van De Beek

Ole Solskjaer ruined this guy's career. Donny is a very good player and I don’t think United should sell him but he isn’t part of their plans and hasn’t been since he arrived in Manchester. Time to go.

Fred

Sell Fred to Fulham for 30 million pounds and then go and buy Sofyan Amrabat, that’s a smart deal.

Anthony Elanga

He’s not that good. Maybe he should go on loan to a Championship side, like Leicester, Leeds, or Southampton, but he definitely can’t stay next season.
