Now that the Premier League season has ended, it’s time to honor the players, managers, and teams that stood out this year. Newcastle went from a relegation fight last year, to Champions League this year, Nottingham Forest survived their first season back in the Premier League, Erling Haaland scored goals from all angles, and so much more!
Team of the Season: Newcastle

Has to be Eddie Howe’s men. Last year Newcastle were bottom of the league without a single win half way through the campaign. Everything changed for Newcastle the day Saudi Arabia bought the club. Newcastle will definitely dip into their immense funds in the future. No matter what you think of politics, the Saudi Arabia deal is incredible financially for the team and town of Newcastle. With that being said influx in cash was not the factor in their success this season.
Newcastle spent about 123 million pounds which is barely a scratch to their multi-billionaire owners. Manchester United spent 250 million and Manchester City spent around 200 million. For most clubs, 123 million is a lot, but compared to the other big six clubs, it’s not much. The Magpies barely dipped into their available funds and already achieved so much this season. Another summer of spending could be the turning point for Newcastle and transform them into title challengers.
Manager of the Season: Unai Emery

There are many potential winners for manager of the season: Robert Di Zerbi, Erik Ten Hag, Eddie Howe, etc. Unai Emery took over as Aston Villa boss with the side in the mix of a relegation fight and he took them all the way to seventh place. Emery has done an amazing job and he brought Villa back to where they need to be.
At first, a few people were concerned about Emery’s return considering his poor spell at Arsenal from 2019-2020, but he proved them wrong. Villa used to struggle to keep clean-sheets and now that is the norm for this club. Players like Ollie Watkins have come alive under Emery, scoring a career-high 15 goals this season.
Positive strides are being made at Villa under Emery and a good summer transfer window will help the Villans move farther up the table and compete with the elites of English football and the rest of Europe.
Signing of the Season: Casemiro

Yes, Erling Haaland broke the goal-scoring record with 36 goals this season, but Manchester City are a title-winning team with or without Haaland. Casemiro transformed Manchester United this season. United looked secure in games when Casemiro started and without him, they looked shaky and scared. Casemiro joined the club this season and instantly became one of the leaders of the team.
United would not be in the position they are in at the end of the season with a midfield of Fred and Scott McTominay. The Red Devils need to buy another box-to-box midfielder like Mason Mount, along with a good defensive midfielder like Declan Rice or Moises Caicedo to help Casemiro. Additionally, that extra support would provide a good back-up for when he can’t play. The signing of Casemiro signified the start of a new era for United under Erik Ten Hag.
Young Player of the Year: Jacob Ramsey

A large part of Aston Villa’s success goes down to the performances Jacob Ramsey has put in this season. At just 22 years old, he made 35 appearances, scored six goals and assisted seven, and averaged about 7.5/10 match rating. In just two seasons, Ramsey has solidified himself as a Villa starter and one of their best players. Emery would not have taken his team to the Conference League without this guy.
Ramsey is still very young but he has leadership qualities and his work rate is incredible. Villa fans were disappointed when Jack Grealish was sold because they lost their star boy, but Ramsey has filled Graelish’s shoes nicely and will only get better.
Goalie of the Season: David De Gea

De Gea has gone through an up-and-down three years. Many people decided that De Gea isn’t good enough to be United’s number one anymore. Well, 17 clean sheets and a Golden Glove award isn’t bad is it? De Gea has been a stone wall in net for United this season and is a big reason for their third place finish.
De Gea’s performances this season are a reminder of how good this guy is. To be 32, with practically the whole footballing world against you and to play that well, deserves some credit,. This season shows United fans that they don’t need a new keeper because De Gea’s still got it and can hopefully perform like this again next season.
This Article did not touch on every possible reward but new articles about MVP and LVP of the seasons and underrated and overrated players of the season will be up sometime this week so stay tuned!
